MOTIONrehab Clinical Director, Sarah DanielMOTIONrehab is pleased to announce on the 22nd February 2018, MOTIONrehab Director, Sarah Daniel was made Chair of the Medico-Legal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MLACP).

The MLACP is a professional network for Chartered Physiotherapists and other professionals who have a special interest in medicolegal work.  The MLACP committee help promote the role of Physiotherapists within the Medico-legal sector.  An understanding of medicolegal matters is required in all areas of physiotherapy practice and at all stages of career progression. For example, all physiotherapists must understand how key legal concepts such as consent to treatment, confidentiality, duty of care and duty to report affect the way in which they work with patients. Some physiotherapists choose to develop particular expertise in medico-legal work and may undertake to write medico-legal reports which can be used for a range of purposes.

Sarah will work with a dedicated team on the committee at the MLACP to deliver a dynamic education programme and provide useful resources for the membership to help promote physiotherapists working within the sector.

Sarah and members of the MOTIONRehab team have completed comprehensive training in medico-legal practice, including that provided by the MLACP, to provide services to barristers, solicitors and case managers. For more information please click here: Information for Professionals
