Rachel Watkins, BSc (Hons) MCSP HCPC reg
Rachel Watkins graduated from Pinderfields School of Physiotherapy in Wakefield and specialises in the field of Neurological Physiotherapy. She has a wealth of experience in the NHS and independent sector and has treated clients in an acute and rehabilitation setting as well as in neurological outpatients.
Rachel specialises in rehabilitation following Traumatic and Acquired Brain Injuries. Rachel also has a wealth of experience treating a wide range of other complex neurological conditions such as Stroke, Multiple Sclerosis, and sensory and motor Ataxia.
Rachel uses a variety of treatment approaches including hands-on therapy (Bobath) in combination with FES Functional Electrical Stimulation, Saebo and muscle stimulation for the upper and lower limb. Rachel also has experience in using Kinesiology Taping for neurological clients and Hydrotherapy. Rachel is currently undertaking her Level 2 Swimming Teacher Qualification and will be combining her neurological physiotherapy and swimming skills as part of neurological rehabilitation for those who want to improve their technique and fitness.
Rachel has lots of experience dealing with people with communication/cognitive and behavioural issues.
