Despite the second lockdown MOTIONrehab is pleased to share that building work is continuing on MOTIONrehab’s new Intensive Robotic Neurological Rehabilitation Centre in Hull. Last week saw the safety glass panels being put in place for the Robotics Suite ready for the devices to arrive from Tyromotion at the end of this month.

The Hull clinic will be MOTIONrehab’s second Intensive Robotic Neurological Rehabilitation Centre and the only neurological rehabilitation centre in the UK offer the complete upper and lower limb Tyrosoloution from Tyromotion including it’s latest device, the LEXO robotic gait trainer enabling MOTIONrehab clients to accelerate their outcomes from rehabilitation.

The centre will offer patients specialist one to one hands-on therapy from experienced and highly skilled clinicians. Uniquely, clients will also spend time training with the evidence-based robotic, motion-sensor and virtual reality devices. This allows patients to practice the high number of repetitions of movements which is critical to neuroplasticity and achieving better outcomes faster than traditional hands-on therapy alone.

MOTIONrehab’s Clinical Director and Business Owner, Sarah Daniel says

“Evidence tells us that patients need to do a high number of repetitions and lots of practice in a dynamic environment to help achieve their rehabilitation goals quicker. This was the vision for MOTIONrehab’s first clinic and what we have seen is the vision really works. The more our patients do the quicker they get better and the more satisfying our jobs are. It might be the smallest of things, suddenly they can stand up for the first time, they can open their fingers for the first time, but when that leads into being able to eat and drink on their own, being able to go back to their own home or even managing to go to the toilet on their own. Those are huge wins from tiny little steps of rehab to get them there.

Seeing that the vision really works has led to MOTIONrehab’s investment in a second robotic technology suite in Hull. The team and I are really excited to expand our services to reach more people with neurological illness and injuries to help them reach their potential.”
