MOTIONrehab is proud to support the upcoming Yorkshire WheelPower Sports Festival — an inspiring day of inclusive sport and activity for people with physical disabilities, taking place right here in Sheffield on Thursday 29 January 2026.

Organised by WheelPower, the national charity for wheelchair sport and physical activity, this festival offers participants aged 5 and above the chance to try a wide range of wheelchair sports — from tennis and boccia to wheelchair rugby league, archery and more — all in a safe, welcoming, and fully accessible environment.

What to Expect

Whether you’re new to sport or an experienced athlete, there’s something for everyone:

  • Wheelchair Basketball
  •  Archery
  •  Wheelchair Rugby League
  •  Wheelchair Tennis
  •  Cricket, Golf & Boccia
  •  Free lunch and a WheelPower T-shirt for participants
  •  Free accessible parking and facilities on site at the English Institute of Sport, Sheffield

Registration opens from 9:30 am, with the festival running until approximately 3:00 pm. Participants are invited to move between activities at their own pace, with experienced coaches and volunteers on hand to offer guidance and support throughout the day.

Who Can Take Part?

This festival is open to everyone with a physical disability, regardless of experience or confidence in sport. You don’t need to bring your own equipment — sporting gear and adapted wheelchairs are available, and all activities are tailored so attendees can participate comfortably and safely.

A small donation of £5 is requested to attend, which goes directly back into supporting WheelPower’s mission of creating more opportunities for disabled people to enjoy sport.

Why It Matters

At MOTIONrehab, we know how life-changing movement and activity can be — not just for physical health, but for confidence, connection, and wellbeing too. Events like the Yorkshire WheelPower Sports Festival break down barriers, help people discover new abilities, and create opportunities to connect with others in the community.

Whether you’re a client, family member, or supporter, we’d love to see you there — joining in the fun, trying something new, and celebrating what movement can mean for all of us.
