The MOTIONrehab team visited this year’s Neuro Convention at the Birmingham NEC

The MOTIONrehab team visited this year’s Neuro Convention. On Wednesday 20th March 2024, therapists from MOTIONrehab Hull, Leeds and York attended Neuro Convention at the Birmingham NEC.

This year’s theme was “Improving patient outcomes in Neuro Rehabilitation” something MOTIONrehab team is very passionate about with the opening of its third Intensive Neurological Rehabilitation Centre this month in Doncaster.

Neuro Convention is an event for neuro rehabilitation experts, including occupational therapists, neurological physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, clinicians, psychologists and case managers.

Neuro Convention showcases the latest innovations in the field of neurological rehabilitation including Neurological Rehabilitation Technology, Exoskeletons, Virtual Reality, Neuro-Stimulation, Gait analysis and Gait Trainers, Orthotics, Robotic-assisted therapy and many more whilst also maintaining a central focus on care, research, training and best practice.

The event encourages discussions on therapies, integrating rehabilitation into healthcare, therapist’s self-care, advances in technology and the human elements of rehabilitation highlighting the priority of supporting both patients and providers.

Neuro Convention takes place alongside Naidex an event for the disability community creating a wider platform for collaboration.

The MOTIONrehab team spent time attending various talks and discussions including listening to the inspirational Nathalie McGloin who is the first female person with a SCI who is a racing driver. In addition to this, the team enjoyed the discussion around DJing and using music for rehabilitation.

Tom was thrilled to catch up with Ava again in her work capacity working for Adapt Ability at the event.  Adapt Ability is a company operated by disabled people working to provide mobility solutions for disabled people

All in all, a good day was had by all.
