Sarah Daniel announced as a finalist for Yorkshire & North East Director of the Year Awards 2021 in two categories, Innovation and Start-up!

MOTIONrehab is pleased to share that Sarah Daniel has been announced as a finalist for Yorkshire & North East Director of the Year Awards 2021 in the categories Innovation and Start-up! The Institute of Directors (IoD) Awards is one of the few cross-sector Awards programmes that celebrates leadership talent, success and achievement.

The Institute of Directors highlighted “The quality of the awards this year was very high so making the shortlist is a great achievement.”

Sarah has been nominated for her work in launching the UK’s first ever Robotics-led Intensive Neurological Rehabilitation Centre in Leeds which was quickly followed by a second centre in Hull. MOTIONrehab was quickly recognised by the Financial Times, Google and leading European policy makers for technological innovation, its role in leading digital change, and in challenging an industry sector with a disruptive business model in the field of rehabilitation on  ‘Europe’s Road to Growth list’.

Both centres include a range of upper and lower limb robotics and virtual reality technology. The MOTIONrehab centres were the first in the UK with these particular devices, giving the clinic International Reference Centre Status for treatment, teaching and research.

Since the launch of the centres, MOTIONrehab have been opening their doors to other rehabilitation facilities from around the world as well as supporting NHS and private hospitals/clinics such as Circle Health Birmingham to implement Intensive Robotics led rehabilitation to help improve neurological rehabilitation services across the UK.

The Institute of Directors was founded in 1903 and within three years were awarded a Royal Charter to support, represent and set standards for business leaders nationwide. The Institute of Directors remains deeply proud of its Royal Charter and it stays at the forefront of everything they do as an organisation.

The IoD is found in the heart of all major cities and continues to represent directors’ point of view as a business leader both locally and nationally. Its objective is to ensure directors’ views are taken into account when the government is reviewing policy, legislation or seeking the opinions of the wider business community.

The Director of the Year Awards 2021 ceremony will be delivered as a virtual event on Wednesday 18 November.
