On Monday 26th February, MOTIONrehab opened its doors to its  brand new Intensive Neurological Rehabilitation Centre in Doncaster to patients. Then on Tuesday 5th March, MOTIONrehab held it’s official launch event. Solicitors, Case Managers, Health Professionals and Industry Professionals attended from all over the UK along with Tyromotion Technology, Business Doncaster and the star of the show Marlon Laight who shared his experiences of Intensive Neurological Rehabilitation at MOTIONrehab. Marlon attended MOTIONrehab following a car accident where he sustained a brain injury.

When Marlon started at MOTIONrehab in November 2018, he was unable to walk, needed hoisting for all transfers and had no use of his arms. Marlon attended MOTIONrehab for Intensive Rehabilitation for 8 months and continues working hard at his rehabilitation today at his locally gym and is working towards becoming a Personal Trainer. We were proud to have Marlon at our launch event.

MOTIONrehab launched the UK’s first Intensive Neurological Rehabilitation centre augmented with Robotics and Virtual Reality technology back in April 2018. MOTIONrehab was quickly recognised by the Financial Times, Google and leading European policy makers for technological innovation, its role in leading digital change, and in challenging an industry sector with a disruptive business model in the field of rehabilitation on  ‘Europe’s Road to Growth list’.

Following the success that patients were seeing at the Intensive Neurological Rehabilitation Centre in Leeds, MOTIONrehab decided to expand its services and open a second Intensive Neurological Rehabilitation Centre at its clinic in Hull, in December 2020, followed by a third in Doncaster in March 2024.

All the Intensive Rehabilitation centres include a range of upper and lower limb robotics and virtual reality technology. The MOTIONrehab centres were the first in the UK with these these particular devices, giving the clinic International Reference Centre Status for treatment, teaching and research. Since April 2018, MOTIONrehab have been opening their doors to other rehabilitation facilities from around the world as well as supporting NHS and privates hospitals/clinics such as Circle Health Birmingham to implement Intensive Robotics led rehabilitation to help improve neurological rehabilitation services across the UK.

Upon accessing our centres, MOTIONrehab clients receive a detailed assessment by our team of Specialist Neurological Physiotherapists.  MOTIONrehab centres offers its patients specialist one-to-one hands-on therapy from experienced and highly skilled clinicians. MOTIONrehab clients also spend time training with the robotic, sensor based and virtual reality devices. This allows our patients to practice high repetitions of movement which is critical to neuro-plasticity and achieving better outcomes quicker than traditional hand-on therapy alone.

MOTIONrehab is proud to be the first company in the UK to pioneer this concept and was pleased to see Intensive Neurological Rehabilitation being recognised and recommended in the new National Clinical Guideline for Stroke for the UK and Ireland in September 2023
