On Wednesday 16th September MOTIONrehab’s Finance Director, Amanda Newman was part of an international panel of experts discussing the integration of robotic gait training into rehabilitation. Amanda provided a cost benefit perspective for clinics and patients.

In the afternoon session, Clinical Director, Sarah Daniel formed part of a second panel discussing clinical outcomes and evidence based rehab.

The invitation came in recognition of MOTIONrehab’s award winning Intensive Neurological Rehabilitation centre based in Leeds, the UK’s first highly Intensive Outpatient and Residential* Neurological Rehabilitation facility augmented by Robotics, Sensor-based and Virtual Reality devices which opened in April 2018.

The centre in Leeds was quickly recognised by the Financial Times, Google and leading European policy makers as one of the Top 100 companies for pioneering Digital Innovation in Europe.

MOTIONrehab was selected for technological innovation, its role in leading digital change, and in challenging an industry sector with a disruptive business model. MOTIONrehab was recognised as a pioneer in the field of rehabilitation by ‘Europe’s Road to Growth list’ supported by Google and the Financial Times, which aims to highlight organisations and companies that are tackling the challenge of digitalisation and taking advantage of new technologies in ground-breaking and interesting ways.

The Intensive Robotic Rehabilitation Centre includes a range of upper and lower limb robotics and virtual reality technology. The MOTIONrehab centre is the only location within UK with all of these particular devices, giving the clinic International Reference Centre Status for treatment, teaching and research.

The concept offers patients specialist one to one hands-on therapy from experienced and highly skilled clinicians. Uniquely, MOTIONrehab clients also spend time training with the robotic, sensor based and virtual reality devices individually and in groups. This allows patients to practice high repetitions of movements which is critical to neuro-plasticity and the optimisation of outcomes.
